Terms of service

saycheese lets people support creators through deliberate 🧀 tip replies on supported social networks and through a creator's page at saycheese.tips. One account can send and receive tips and connect several socials. You do not need separate creator and supporter accounts.

A connected social account is not a promise that every feature works on that network. Comment tipping depends on the network, the connected accounts, permissions and the supported post, channel or chat. Check the availability shown in the service. YouTube is in testing; features marked Testing or Coming soon are not generally available.

You must be at least 18 years old. Availability depends on your country, payment method and the requirements shown during setup. Payout-country eligibility is separate from social connection or the ability to send a tip. All tips are in US dollars.

When you register, give us accurate information and keep it current. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your sign-in method to yourself.

The tipping grammar has exactly two forms:

• A supported comment containing 🧀 requests $5, the standard cheese. Extra cheese emoji change nothing.
• A supported comment containing 🧀$N requests N dollars, where N is a whole number of dollars within the service's limits. So 🧀$199 requests $199.

The minimum tip is $5. Tips are whole dollars, in USD only. A supported reply is a payment instruction, not confirmation that the payment succeeded. Account permissions, payment limits, bank authentication and processing checks may prevent or delay a tip. Check the tip's status before trying again.

A tip that replies to a specific person is directed to that person. Where the unregistered-recipient path is available and the payment passes the required checks, a tip to someone who has not joined is charged and held for them for 7 days. They can claim it by claiming their saycheese page within that window; a tip that is still unclaimed after 7 days is forfeited and retained by saycheese, subject to applicable law. A tip that does not reply to anyone can go to the verified creator who owns the supported group, channel or thread. An unresolved reply target must not be treated as an instruction to pay somebody else.

Where held tips are enabled, an eligible connected account can receive a charged tip before its bank setup is complete. This is held support, not money available for withdrawal. The collection policy provides a 30-day period for eligible tips held for a member without a payout account. A tip still eligible for expiry after that period may be forfeited and retained by saycheese, subject to applicable law. Check the collection status and deadline shown for the tip. Expiry is not an automatic refund to the sender, and it does not remove any statutory refund or payment rights.

When you tip someone who has not joined saycheese and no participating creator owns the thread, saycheese may reply from your own connected account, under your own comment, to tell them the tip is theirs to claim. That reply carries no link and never states an amount that could itself be read as a tip. It is on by default and you can switch it off on your dashboard at any time.

Before enabling comment tipping, connect the social accounts you want to use, actively agree that eligible 🧀 tip replies authorize charges, and save a payment method with Stripe. The agreement must cover the social account used for the tip. Connecting another social account or saving a card by itself is not a new payment instruction.

You authorize saycheese to initiate a separate charge to your saved payment method each time you deliberately post an eligible tip reply from an enabled account. The amount is $5 for 🧀, or the valid whole-dollar amount in 🧀$N. These are unscheduled payments you trigger, not a subscription or a charge for every ordinary comment. The charge can be processed while you are away from saycheese, after the platform delivers the reply.

Only comments in the grammar above trigger a charge. A comment without a 🧀, or a 🧀 on a post we are not watching, charges nothing.

Pause sending or disconnect a social account in your dashboard to stop future comment tips from that account. You can also withdraw emoji-tip permission in your tipping setup or contact support for help. This does not cancel an instruction already being processed or a completed payment. Review each amount carefully: saycheese does not provide a separate over-$500 approval step. Your bank may still require authentication.

Sending a tip asks us to process a payment. A pending, declined or authentication-required request is not a completed tip. Once captured, a tip is normally final; deleting the original comment does not reverse it. There is no general payment cancellation window. Refund controls depend on the current tip status and eligibility. Undoing a thank-you marker is not undoing a payment.

Where we grant a refund, it goes back to the card you paid with, and can take a few days to appear depending on your bank, as described in our refunds policy. Nothing in these terms limits mandatory consumer rights or your right to report an unauthorized or incorrect charge to your payment provider.

Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe, not to us. We never see or store full card numbers. Saving a card makes it available for the uses you explicitly agreed to; each deliberate eligible tip reply or Send action instructs the payment under that agreement.

Saving a card through Stripe's setup process does not itself send a tip. On the creator page, you complete social connection, the payment agreement and card setup before choosing and sending an on-page tip. The Send action authorizes that displayed payment; following a creator does not authorize a charge.

Your bank may sometimes ask to verify a charge. If it does, we show you a verification step and the tip waits for it. Charges appear on your card statement as SAYCHEESE.TIPS.

Supporters always pay exactly the tip amount. A $5 cheese costs $5. There are no supporter-side fees.

Completing creator setup creates your public creator page. Verifying ownership links that platform identity to your account and helps attribute eligible tips correctly. A provisional account or a saved card alone does not establish ownership of a social profile.

Withdrawing money requires the relevant Stripe identity and bank checks and an eligible payout account. Stripe collects and reviews verification documents directly. Saycheese does not collect, store or review those documents; we receive account details and verification, requirements and payout-status information needed to operate payouts. A saved tipping card is separate from your payout bank account.

Turning Receive cheese off prevents new tips. Where held support is available, an account without completed payout setup may still receive held tips under the collection rules above. A displayed received or held amount is not a guarantee of withdrawable funds.

Balances pay out automatically once they reach your automatic payout line ($100 unless you set it higher), and you can claim your balance at any time from $25. A payout carries a moving fee, shown before you claim, which covers what it costs to send the money. Availability also depends on payment settlement, account status, payout review and any applicable holds. The collection policy includes a 90-day expiry for eligible unpaid tips, subject to the enabled payout process, pending claims or transfers and applicable law. It is not an unconditional expiry for every unpaid balance. Review the status and deadline shown in your dashboard and contact support if collection is blocked. Expiry does not remove mandatory payment or consumer rights.

Creators pay the platform fee shown on your payouts card in your dashboard. It is taken from each tip you receive. Any applicable payout fee is separate and is shown before you claim. Supporters pay the displayed tip amount without a supporter-side platform fee.

As a creator you agree to a few things:

• Only claim pages for accounts you actually own.
• Tips are voluntary support, not a store. Do not sell goods or services through tips, and do not promise anything in exchange for a tip.
• Follow the rules of the platforms your posts live on.
• Handle refund requests from your supporters in good faith.
• Taxes on what you earn are your responsibility.

Creators can run goal campaigns on their page, for their own purposes: gear, a project, a trip, whatever you are making happen. A few hard lines come from payment rules, not from taste:

• Nothing with a prize, raffle, or lottery.
• No political fundraising.
• No raising money on behalf of third parties, including charities.
• Nothing prohibited by the card networks or our payment processor.

Campaigns that cross those lines are removed. Repeatedly crossing them can end your account.

A creator and a supporter can message each other only after a completed tip connects them. The tip is the introduction. Messaging is for that relationship, and our acceptable use policy applies to it.

Creators can use available live tools to review tips, display alerts in OBS, or play generated speech, including for X Spaces. Approving or holding an alert controls its presentation, not whether an already captured tip was charged. Listening to a message or replaying it does not send another tip.

Thank Them opens a draft with a public receipt link and receipt card to share. You review and publish the message on the social network. Opening the composer or copying a draft does not publish it, and marking a supporter thanked is separate bookkeeping. Undoing that marker does not delete a published post. Separately enabled automatic receipts or reply features require the relevant platform permission and settings.

Tip messages, names, amounts and generated speech may appear in a creator's live broadcast according to the applicable visibility settings. Do not include private information in a tip message. Browser audio alone does not route sound into X Spaces or OBS; creators must configure and test their output. See our privacy policy for these uses.

The full list lives in the acceptable use policy, which is part of these terms. The short version: no fraud, no stolen cards, no self-tipping schemes, no using tips to buy or sell anything, no harassment, and no breaking the platforms saycheese runs on.

Connected social networks are independent platforms with their own rules. saycheese is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or responsible for them. If a platform removes a post or an account, tips connected to it may stop working, and that is outside our control.

You can close your account whenever you like by contacting support@saycheese.tips. We can suspend or close accounts that break these terms, the acceptable use policy, or the law, or where we must for payment or legal reasons.

Closing an account does not erase what already happened. Completed tips stay completed, refund rights stay refund rights, and creator balances are handled in line with these terms and applicable law.

A tip is a voluntary payment from a supporter to a creator. It is not a purchase, not an investment, and not a charitable donation. No tax receipt is issued.

saycheese is provided as is. We work hard to keep it reliable, but we cannot promise it will always be available or error free. Creators are independent people, not our employees or agents. We do not control what they post, promise, or do.

You should keep your connected accounts, email and devices secure and report suspected unauthorized use promptly. An instruction associated with your account is not conclusive proof that you authorized it. We will review disputed instructions and applicable refund or payment rights. We do not exclude responsibility where the law does not allow us to.

Some liability cannot be excluded by law, for example liability for fraud, or rights that consumer law grants and does not let us take away, including mandatory rights of UK and EU consumers. Nothing in these terms attempts to exclude those rights or liabilities.

We may update these terms as the product and the law evolve. If a change matters, we will tell you before it takes effect. Using saycheese after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes belong to the courts of England and Wales. If you are an EU consumer, you keep any protections and venue rights your local law grants you.
