Refunds
Last updated: September 8, 2026
Sending a tip instructs a payment; check its status to see whether it completed. Refunds, when approved and processed, go back to the original payment method.
Tips are final
A cheese is a deliberate payment instruction. A completed tip is ordinarily final, subject to the refund process and your legal rights below. Sending a tip does not guarantee that the payment succeeds. Check its recorded status and receipt; deleting a comment or closing a page does not establish that a payment was canceled.
Refunds go back to your card
Where a refund is warranted, two paths:
- Ask the creator. The creator鈥檚 refund button is available for eligible tips within 3 days of capture, before the relevant funds have been paid out, and subject to the account鈥檚 refund eligibility checks. The dashboard shows whether that option is available; using it requests a refund, not proof of its completion.
- Ask us. If the creator does not respond, or the situation needs a referee, email support@saycheese.tips and our support team will review it.
The 3-day window and payout restrictions limit the creator鈥檚 self-service button. They do not set a deadline for your statutory rights or bank dispute rights. If the button is unavailable, you can still ask support to review the case. A review does not guarantee a refund.
Refunds we grant go back to the card you paid with, the original payment method for that tip. Approval and processing are separate: a refund can take time to complete and appear on your statement, depending on the payment processor and your bank. Nothing here takes away a right the law gives you, including mandatory rights of UK and EU consumers.
Bank authentication and payment status
There is no SayCheese second-confirmation rule for tips over $500. Your bank may require authentication for a payment of any amount, or decline it. Completing authentication does not itself prove that a tip was paid. If the result is unclear, check the existing tip鈥檚 status or ask support before starting another payment.
A charge you do not recognize
saycheese charges appear on card statements as SAYCHEESE.TIPS. If you see one you do not recognize, you can contact support for help identifying the associated tip and reviewing the charge. You do not need to contact us or wait for our response before speaking to your bank or exercising your dispute or legal rights.
If you believe your card was used by someone else, tell us immediately and contact your bank. We take unauthorized use seriously and may restrict the affected account while we investigate.
Disputes and chargebacks
You can dispute a charge with your bank under the applicable rules and time limits. Contacting support is optional and does not extend those time limits. We may investigate fraudulent use of the dispute process, but nothing in this policy limits a legitimate dispute or any right the law gives you.
How to reach support
Email support@saycheese.tips with the date and amount of the tip, the creator involved, and a link to the post or page if you have it. We aim to respond within 2 business days, and payment problems go to the front of the queue.
