What your top post knows that you don’t
Every cheese is born on a post, so provenance is a physical property, not a guess. Here is how to turn post-level earnings into a strategy.
Every tip on saycheese knows which post it came from. Not inferred, not last-click guessed. Known. A cheese is born as a comment on a specific post, so provenance rides along from the first second. Your board can therefore tell you something no profile-page tip jar can: exactly what every post earned.
This sounds like a reporting feature. It is actually a strategy engine, because your top post knows things about your audience that you do not.
Why nobody else can tell you this
On competitor platforms, money is born on their website. A fan reads your post, travels to a profile page, and pays there. By then the trail is cold. The platform can guess with referral links, or shrug. Either way, your income arrives as a lump with no labels.
When the comment is the checkout, the post and the payment are the same event. Attribution is not a feature bolted on afterward. It is a physical property of where the money happens, and it cannot be copied by anyone whose money starts somewhere else.
Reading the board
Your board leads with your top post quoted in its own words, in the largest type on the page. Under it, every post as a row: what it earned, how many cheeses, how many supporters. Your page and your group chat appear as rows too, so on-site cheese and comment cheese sit in one honest picture.
The interesting question is never the number. It is the why. When one post towers, resist the first explanation, which is usually topic. Look at its shape instead. Was it a finished thing. Was it personal. Did it end with a question. Did it land on a certain day, in a certain format, at a certain length. Topics are hard to repeat. Shapes repeat beautifully.
Minted supporters
Each post row also shows how many supporters it minted, meaning people whose first-ever cheese to you landed there. This is a different honor roll than earnings. A post that earns $300 from your regulars is a great post. A post that mints eleven new supporters just changed the size of your future.
Watch which posts do which. Some formats farm, some formats recruit, and they are rarely the same formats. A healthy month has both, on purpose.
What to do with it
- Make more of the shape that earns. Not the topic, the shape.
- Schedule your recruiting formats for when new eyes arrive, like after a collab or a post that traveled.
- Notice what your audience quietly ignores, and spend that effort where the board says it counts.
None of this is pandering. You are not chasing an algorithm’s taste. You are listening to people who paid to tell you what they value, in the most credible language there is. The board just writes it down.
Your instincts made the work. The board tells you which instincts your audience is funding. Between the two of you, the next month gets much easier to aim.
Period and lens
The board reads at whatever zoom you need: today, the month, the year, sliced by time, posts, or people. The posts lens is the strategy view, but the people lens deserves a monthly visit. It shows who keeps arriving, and a supporter who shows up across many different posts is telling you the work as a whole holds them, not one lucky hit.
Zoom matters because single days lie. A quiet Tuesday says nothing. A month of rows says everything. Set a weekly appointment with the board, read it like weather rather than a verdict, and let the patterns accumulate before you act on them.
